Divide and conquer was our story for such a long time. We’ve recently switched into doing what they want at different levels. My oldest, 20 is mentally a baby. And I have other bigs who don’t enjoy what she enjoys. The other day, we had a water day, all of them played in the slash pad, but my oldest hung out in her kiddie pool while the others did water balloons. When we play board games sometimes she comes and hangs out at the table with a toy she likes while we play games she can’t. Family movie night means one targeted to the family put the baby to bed and then one we all want to watch. It’s all so hard to balance.
Thanks for your comment and for sharing your juggle too. It really is hard to balance. Somedays I feel like it goes completely wrong and other days we thrive! But I'm trying my best ❤️
Would your older two teach the younger two something? Thinking it would be a nice way for them to engage with each other and for the bigs to feel useful/they can impart wisdom, while the littles will be chuffed their brothers took time to help them!
Not she what, maybe how to ride a bike or something?! I dunno what they’re into but maybe there’s something they can teach them. Like the bucket list idea too.
